Here at BlogHers ACT Canada, we've spent a good deal of our efforts participating in the effort to ban Bisphenol A from the Canadian marketplace. It probably won't come as a surprise to you that there are more synthetic chemicals affecting women, children and men out there.
CBC television is currently developing a documentary film on the topic of endocrine disruptors and their affect on our health. Endocrine disruptors can be found in everyday consumer products such as plastics, personal care products and electronics. They interfere with hormonal systems and can disrupt the body’s normal functions.
- Families with boys born with genital defects, such as undescended testes;
- Families with boys who have learning disabilities, ADHD or Autism;
- Men who are infertile or have low fertility rates;
- Men with testicular cancer;
- An expecting couple or parents of a newborn baby boy who are trying to live as chemical-free as possible; and
- A couple trying to conceive a baby but cannot.
It would be helpful to the film if you have an awareness of the issue of endocrine disruptors and their possible links to the health issues with which you are living.
